Passion

Passion often appears in myth and literature as love and desire pushed past the limits of reason: Venus, Cupid, Orpheus, Romeo and Juliet. It is the all-consuming inner drive towards some purpose, despite resistance or the threat of failure, and can never exist without sacrifice.
